    How I Approach Therapy

Therapy is most helpful when it is a collaborative, enlightening, and empowering process of self-discovery and transformation. Healthy dashes of humor and levity don’t hurt, either. My style is down-to-earth, nonjudgmental, direct, intuitive, and playfully engaging. It is informed by years of clinical experience, active involvement in post-licensure education and training, and professional mentorship from some of the world’s leading sex therapists and authors on sex and sexuality, Drs. Marty Klein and Margaret Nichols.

    What Happens in Therapy

In therapy, you are welcomed into a safe and serene environment within which you are supported to observe and work through difficult thoughts, uncomfortable feelings, and unhelpful patterns in your life. You’ll also be asked important questions you’ve likely not yet asked yourself, as well as be introduced to new perspectives that can fundamentally change how you approach problem solving. Throughout your therapeutic journey, you’re supported in thinking of yourself and your concerns differently, where change might be much easier to achieve than you expected. I invite you to look forward to exploring new ways of crafting your most fulfilling life, both in and out of the bedroom!

    Where Therapy Happens

Appointments take place on a secure & HIPAA-compliant Video Telehealth platform called SimplePractice. You can easily access sessions from your computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone, giving you the flexibility to get proper support without disrupting your day.

    My Commitment to You

Finding a new Psychologist or Sex Therapist can be a frustrating and time consuming process. People sometimes need help getting connected with the right provider for their needs. In your free 15-minute Introductory Phone Call, we’ll review your concerns and goals for therapy. If we both agree that I’m likely to be a good fit for you, we can easily schedule your first session on the same call. If another provider or organization might be better suited to your needs, I’m happy to provide you with those referrals. It’s that simple.

Not satisfied with simply helping you to feel “less bad,” you have my commitment to help you pursue pleasure, experience more moments of joy, and create a life worth celebrating.

For years, I proudly served as a Clinical Psychologist in several of Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital’s outpatient programs, where I treated individuals, groups, families, and couples. I worked as the sole Clinical Psychologist in the Dual Diagnosis program, Trauma program, and Veterans program.

I was later recruited to work at Sharp HealthCare’s McDonald Center, a residential chemical dependency treatment facility. Additionally, I had the privilege to serve as the Clinical Supervisor to masters-level and doctoral-level psychology trainees at Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital and Sharp McDonald Center, as well as at New Vistas Crisis House in Downtown San Diego.

I also love exploring all the beautiful neighborhoods, beaches, and restaurants that San Diego offers.
