About Me

Therapeutic Approach

Therapy is most effective when it is a collaborative & empowering process of self-discovery & sustainable changes made over time. I partner with my patients to understand both their concerns and the underlying factors that contribute to them. From this comprehensive understanding, we'll review your options so you can make informed decisions about what changes you'd like to make.

My therapeutic style is down-to-earth, nonjudgmental, direct, intuitive, and playfully engaging. It is informed by over a decade of clinical experience, identification with many of the communities I treat, and ongoing professional development & mentorship from some of the world’s leading sex therapists and authors on sex & sexuality.

What Happens in Therapy

You are welcomed into a safe and supportive therapeutic relationship within which you are invited to observe & work through difficult thoughts, uncomfortable feelings, & unhelpful patterns in your life. I’ll ask the important questions and introduce you to new perspectives that can fundamentally change how you approach problem solving and decision making, both in and out of the bedroom.

Throughout our work together, you’re supported in thinking of yourself and your concerns differently, where change can be much easier to achieve than you might expect. When you're ready, I invite you to reach out so you can embark on creating your most fulfilling life.

Clinical Background

Licensed as a psychologist in 2015, I served as a Clinical Psychologist at Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital for several years. There, I worked in the Dual Diagnosis, Trauma, and Veterans programs treating individuals, couples, families, and groups. I was later recruited to work at Sharp McDonald Center's residential chemical dependency treatment facility.

At both Sharp HealthCare and a crisis house in Downtown San Diego, I served as a Clinical Supervisor to doctoral and masters level therapist trainees from the fields of psychology, marriage and family therapy, social work, and professional clinical counseling. As a supervisor, I trained, mentored, and oversaw the clinical and professional development of the next generation of mental health providers.

In 2018, I decided to leave the corporate world and opened my own practice. After reconnecting with my biggest passion of helping people to improve their relationship with sex, with COVID as my catalyst I pursued AASECT certification as a Certified Sex Therapist.

I remain thrilled with the work I get to do and with the people I am fortunate to help. I feel grateful to blend my clinical experience and training with my life's mission of helping others enjoy better sex and overall wellness. I look forward to helping you, as well.

When I'm Not In The Office

I enjoy my free time playing beach volleyball, gardening, creating art, traveling to tropical locations, and sharing laughs and experiences with loved ones. I have yet to tire from exploring all the beautiful neighborhoods, beaches, and restaurants that San Diego offers.

My Commitment to You

Not satisfied with simply helping you to feel “less bad,” you have my commitment and support as you pursue pleasure, experience more moments of joy, and create a life worth celebrating.

Finding the right mental health professional or Certified Sex Therapist can be challenging and time consuming. When you schedule your free 15-minute Introductory Phone Consultation, we’ll review your concerns and goals for therapy. If we both agree that I’d be a good fit, I'd be happy to schedule your first appointment. However, if another provider or treatment approach that I don’t offer might better meet your needs, I’ll gladly provide you with those referrals.

It’s that simple.
